Like so many great Finnish things, the idea for Kyrö Distillery was born in a sauna whilst five friends where sipping American rye whiskey. It felt unbelievable that no one distilled whisky from rye in Finland, even though us finns love our rye perhaps more then others. The idea for an all-rye distillery felt still good even the morning after.
